    • DOS MACRO utility TSR that allows recording of frequently used key sequences, available as Freeware. SYSTEM-MANAGER Compliant. ENCORE.COM only file required occupying 2K, not compressible.
  • If you don’t know Assembler, but do know “C,” consider using the Spontaneous Assembly Library from BaseTwo Software, 11 East 200 North, Orem, UT 84057; 800-277-3625).

Spontaneous Assembly contains over 700 different functions, written in assembler, and callable by C- sounding names.

  • Flight Simulator runs on the HP 100LX (100/200LX)

    • Microsoft Flight Simulator 4.0 really does work on the 100LX! Delete all of the graphics drivers except CGA and any unnecessary files to save space. The demo runs, but I had to press (CTRL ) (ON) to get out if it. It runs along as fast as on an old XT! Absolutely amazing!
    • To run Flight Simulator 4.0 on a desktop PC, you need to use the number “5” key, above the “T” on the typewriter keyboard. The equivalent to this on the 100LX is (MENU)-(5).

  • pcanywhere v4.5

    • (5.0+ require a 286+) will let me remote-control the desktop from the palmtop

  • pcremot2

    • Will handle CGA or MDA text too! =)

  • Lotus 123 add-in called @base

    • Lets you read/write to DBase III files

  • Q: INTERSVR complains about the E: drive when I start it. What can I do?

    • A: This is a STACKER/INTERLINK incompatibility. You could stop using Stacker, but a less drastic solution is to get a copy of SUBST.EXE from a PC with MS-DOS 5.0 and include the statement SUBST E: A:\somedir in your AUTOEXEC.BAT. somedir refers to any existing directory on your A: drive. Don’t use built-in ASSIGN with Stacker.
