Introduction ∞
A stunning program which will take a removable device and emulate it locally, so you don’t have to have the data present to browse around the filesystem. This was sent off, and I have received responses, and became a beta tester. I should pick this project back up, because it could seriously shake things up. — TODO – Where did my original emails go? I had some cool ideas in them.
Unfortunately these guys went on to ruin their product, making it a subscription service. I once sent them an email detailing how to turn their product into an interface for doing offline editing of read-only media for later exporting when the interface could write. Hrmph, oh well.

This is referencing a VERY old version.

In the 1disk catalogue file finding mode, give a straight ability to find a file by it’s filename (
control-f). Include the ability to search with wildcards:
1disk*.* 1disk* 1?isk*
- Perhaps warn the user that the search could take a while?
- When viewing the list of files, I am able to type the first letter of the filename to go to the files starting with that letter. However if possible, put in the function for me to be able to type a filename, and have it automatically go to the files with those letters I type in. For example, if I type
git goes to the files starting withg. If I typegrit goes to files starting withgr(if any). (backspaceonce to go back to the first file starting withg, and again to view the files normally) - When restoring the database, it should tell the user if the file isn’t found and not give that frightening message.
- Note that the user cannot resore the database from the old version.
-
I tried to restore an older saved database and it didn’t work. However, I don’t believe it could use it’s current database anymore either. If it fails to load a database, it shouldn’t kill the current active one.

Ported. The date is wildly wrong, these are probably notes from the 90s.
