KnuckleTracks [ 1 ] Earlier archives note previous editions.
KnuckleTracks and Blood Tracks were CD samplers of (usually) heavy metal music from various bands. They came with the (physical) magazine Brave Words & Bloody Knuckles.
I had lots of exposure of hard rock and heavy metal before my collecting Knuckletracks, but this was my grand induction into the world of Heavy Metal and what I would later learn is called Goth or Gothic Metal.

My introduction ∞
Although I had lots of exposure of hard rock and heavy metal before my collecting Knuckletracks, this was my grand induction into the world of Heavy Metal and what I would later learn is called Goth or Gothic Metal. I collected these for some time.
I ripped some to MP3s and still have them, but due to hard drive space issues way back in the day I deleted some of the tracks. Someone, somewhere, downloaded them from me when I plead for that. This is one of my regrets in life. I also had access to the original first issue's little floppy record, but I didn't try to keep it.
At one point I started to bring my Knuckletracks CDs to work to listen, playing them in a 5 1/4" CD-ROM drive which had player controls and an audio jack.
I almost cried at my workstation when I heard The Gathering's Liberty Bell, on KnuckleTracks XII (12) - (1999 CD). This was a solid foundation to find more amazing artists (like Lacuna Coil), most especially thanks to peer-to-peer file sharing communication.
