Setup/Installation ∞

Download Launchpad Enhanced.

Install it. Don’t run it yet.
download the free trial

Disable your virus scanning software
Install the trial.
Run launchpad. Possibly run it twice.
At the bottom of launchpad, click ‘full scan’ and walk away for a while.
Run the launcher
Make up any login name and password. It will let you in, you don’t have to make up a username elsewhere.

I have no clue how to non-run. I pressed F5 and it started some kind of occasional super-run. Now I regular run everywhere, and non-run doesn’t seem to be an option in the top menu.
- I would later learn it’s shift-cursor to walk.
I selected to be shown a tutorial, but there isn’t one.
I have no idea why my mouse is bound in an invisible area. I figured out how to talk with someone, and that’s the only way I can get my mouse elsewhere to click on other icons.
I fought something, but some kind of odd incapacitation timer was shown. My bars did not decrease during the fight though. This is a reproducible issue.
I kill something and it says “a corpse of (monster name) is no more”. What the..

I’m unimpressed by the game world look and the interface.

commands:

control-` to change the action bar. Counter-intuitive. Sigh.
I slammed the keyboard a lot to learn that control-h brings up some help. At this point I was too frustrated to bother with it.
