A corporation takes advantage of a grieving mother by using her to test a prototype robot in the guise of a little boy played by the actor from The Sixth Sense - (1999 movie) playing himself but in this movie.
Maybe in context it was special, but it's pretty obvious and tedious, and the incredibly drawn-out and potentially multiple-endings fucking suck man. If you're into robots, you should totally watch this.. once.

I've seen this before, some time ago, at least once but possibly more than once.

Reading
- The ruined world and dystopia are glossed over in just so much text.
-
1:15 -- Climate alarmism and the population lie.
- The polar ice caps melting and the cities being drowned by the oceans, just like the 1988 predictions which totally came true.
- 2:00 -- Just like solar panels, robots need maintenance and are a horrible long-term solution.
- 5:30 -- This is exactly the right actor for exactly this presentation.
- 6:15 -- Oh, humans can love objects easily enough. Women fall in love with text.
- 7:15 -- Twenty months later.
-
8:00 --
- Robin Hood
- Robin of Sherwood was a TV series.
- Michael Morpurgo is in fact an author, but I see no reference of him writing "Robin of Sherwood". He wrote Outlaw: The Story of Robin Hood in 2012 though, but recall that this movie was from 2001.
- 11:15 -- Maybe teach the robot to blink and not see dead people..
- 11:45 -- Did he really expect a woman to know what to do?
- 13:30 -- See also Humans - (2015 show)
- 15:15 -- Are you sure this isn't a horror movie? Any believed mother would consider it..
- 16:30 -- The mug teleported out of her hand.
- 18:30 -- Yes, married couples don't lock the bathroom door.
- 20:45 -- Putting that thing in her son's room would absolutely not fly in this world. I guess in their dystopic future she's been trained and damaged enough to act like this..
- 21:30 -- So I guess the kid is in suspended animation?
- 25:30 -- So are the roles reversed now? The woman becomes a mommy (since she can't be a parent). So the toy is a surrogate. So just like I said, women can fall in love with text.
- 34:45 -- The Adventures of Pinocchio - (1883 book), by Carlo Collodi
- 44:30 -- Good thing there are men around, since all the women are doing nothing at all.
- 54:30 -- This is exactly the right actor for exactly this scene.
- 1:08:00 -- Oh my god, is that Chris Rock? Apparently that character's name is "Peanut Butter".
- 1:13:00 -- Time (magazine)
- 1:13:45 -- Why the fuck would people be standing so near that?
- 1:14:00 -- White elephant
- 1:16:00 -- A play on "He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first." from John 8:7
- 1:24:00 -- So about getting those men hookers?
- 1:26:30 -- This is a parody of Albert Einstein.
- 1:30:45 -- That's the voice of Robin Williams.
- 1:31:00 -- Manhattan
-
1:46:30 --
- Why would they all be made the same? People going outside would meet one another and see their clones.
- Why would one of the robots move?
- 1:47:30 -- Aah yes, now I recall this stuff. This is ending #1; suicide.
- 1:48:00 -- So does he float? Are there currents? Are those mecha fishes?
- 1:49:15 -- Ending #2.
- 1:50:00 -- Ending #3.
- 1:40:15 -- Handy that it's submersible, and that he can now pilot it. It would have been cool if it leaked, given that he doesn't need to breathe. That would be a commentary on how this thing isn't designed for this.
- 1:53:00 -- Ending #4; trap him and fade to black.
- 1:54:00 -- "Please make me a real actor."
- 1:55:30 -- Ending #5; he fades away.
- 2:06:15 -- Teddy has pockets for some reason. Ending #6; just fade to black.
- 2:07:15 -- So.. what are the ethics here? Are they making an automaton? How will they make her act correctly? Is it all based on his memories of her? Eww.
2:09:30 -- Given that they have many cells, I suppose they could keep some individuals alive for a thousand years of single days. Or just keep people awake for forever.
- 2:09:45 -- This is some bullshit..
- 2:11:45 -- Oh my god make this movie stop.
- 2:12:45 -- The hair had the memories up until the point it was cut, therefore she is horrified by him.
- 2:13:15 -- I'm still confused as to how the robot cries but can't drink.
- 2:14:15 -- So she's dumb and can't remember anything else? Oh, she's artificial..
- 2:16:00 -- Seven candles.
- 2:17:00 -- I guess the aliens/future robots are marionetting her.
-
2:18:00 -- But Teddy was immortal and basic human philosophies compelled him to take over the alien race and start a civil war leading to their extinction THE END.
You know what, this was a tedious movie with nothing unique to it. Maybe in it's time I liked it, but that punchable kid and the multiple long-winded endings spoiled it.
