The shakuhachi (pronounced ɕakɯhatɕi – like “shhah’koo’hah’chee”) is a Japanese end-blown flute.
It is most famous for its use by the monks of the Fuke school of Zen Buddhism in the practice of Suizen (blowing meditation) and technically also walking meditation.
