Path of Exile - (2013 game) >
When I first got into Path of Exile - (2013 game), I did not use Windows (at the time I had access to Windows XP).
Using Wine was a significant project. Others had, even during my months of experimentation, reported they had things running just fine. I did have it running fairly well, but not well enough for me at the time. This ultimately lead to my abandoning using Wine at my earliest opportunity. I might have tried PlayOnLinux or codeweavers, and I might have even paid for it, but using Windows was easy enough once I dual-booted into it.

- It's since been fixed. It only took a year since a patch was submitted.

I have not played Path of Exile on Linux/Wine in a very long time. My last notes, from a date unknown, say that this is a failed project. I had switched to Windows 8.1 and later Windows 10.

I do have it working under Wine, and it's working fairly well. There are some speed hiccups which piss me off to no end, so I'm abandoning ATI and getting a new video card. We'll see how that one works out.
I forgot to mention that I'm using the proprietary drivers.
I also turn off the global/trade chat channels. The info is logged but not displayed. This seems to help a bit.
There also seems to be a memory leak. If I idle for a while in town, it'll start being very laggy.
I once had an issue where I crashed entering into a certain area, but I did a repair and re-initialization / re-download, which took all day but seems to have fixed things.
