People comment on old content as though its producer still holds a position. Hell, they comment as though its producer still remembers the content.
This is especially true for those who themselves don’t create content. There are many differences between content creators and consumers which make them understand and react to things quite differently.

Why aren’t there many geese here?
Well, I tend to make friends with people like me. People that do the same things as me and are interested in the same things as me. That’s just how things work. Isn’t that how you work? Aren’t your friends mostly geese?
So I brought my friends, who are mostly ducks. So here we have mostly ducks. Most of the other people who were interested enough to come were also ducks, who brought mostly other ducks. Ducks share the same interests as ducks.
The question is, then, why didn’t you bring any geese?
You came alone then blamed me for .. what.. not bringing your friends?
Why were you interested and your friends weren’t?
You asked me a question you would be the expert at answering.
“The Chalkening” is a thing where people draw chalk messages in support of Donald Trump‘s 2016 United States presidency campaign.
Opponents retorted with fake-PTSD -style reactions, and use words like “troll”, “hate” and “violence”. Because of chalk.

Documentation is important.
However, many mature projects have part-time or overworked staff, or are built of a loose collection of volunteers. Whatever the case may be, there are times when documentation is old and broken, or poorly-designed and hard to use.
This document goes over some basic ideas for creating a new “better” project.
Do note that such a project is just as vulnerable as all of those old ones. Community participation is by far the most important element.

Some additional thoughts on “the wage gap“. There is probably duplication, but I thought I’d be more directly blunt this time around. This seems to be a decently-complete set of thoughts, for once.

With great power comes great responsibility.
This is a recurring phrase in enough movies that I figured I ought to track it down.
Most people attribute it to the Spider-Man comics.
This is, however, untrue.

It always bothers me how science fiction presents artificial intelligence. How it’s made, how it’s taught and how it’s interacted with is astonishingly stupid.
A philosopher is always the right answer.
