A top-down hack-and-slash game based on the Gauntlet franchise but with different controls, abilities and general gameplay.
This seemed like a good idea at the time, but turned out to be a pretty shitty experience. Not recommended.

Brutal controls, awkward attacks, unforgiving mobs.
Want to rush through a group? Don’t bother, you either stand still and die before trying, or rush through, stand still in a group and die.
Wizard? Why not have 1-6 for changing abilities? Control-Alt-Bottlecap-F17 isn’t useful. Keep that nonsense to “that other game” which is focused entirely around keychains.

Co-op is absolute hell since one’s character is practically invisible in the mob. You might even be stuck at the very edge of the screen thanks to allies that like to spread around. A simple circle under one’s character would solve this, but I suppose nobody alpha tested this game.

oh, and forget being able to figure out all the other abilities. Maybe you somehow memorized them during the forced tutorial, but there are other abilities you were never told about and you will neither find a simple list of the abilities in the game nor a way to change the key bindings.
Buy the DLC for the overpowered necromancer, but it’s entirely group unfriendly. A mass of distracting crap all over. One attack goes in the direction of your mouse, and the other in the direction of facing. BS. Can hardly attack the ghosts that death spawns, making it freaking annoying.
Can I get a refund?

Gauntlet Players,
It has been a busy year since our vision and remake of the arcade classic Gauntlet was released. In that time we have not only released one version, but recently released our newer, shinier updated version as well – Gauntlet: Slayer Edition – on both PC and PlayStation 4 console.
While it has been great working with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, the development phase and our time together is now drawing to a close and Arrowhead’s involvement with the support of the game will come to an end. This means we likely will not release any more patches for the game. If anything were to ever change in the future we will of course keep the Gauntlet community updated.
Frogwing and ForeverAPeon from Arrowhead will still be available in the forums to chat and answer questions (and always on our brand new website of course!), but we ask all of you to continue to report any issues with a ticket to Warner Bros. Support, found here [support.wbgames.com], so that they can keep up to date with the current status.
We thank every single one of you for supporting us along this journey. It has been an incredible experience to work on one of our childhood favorite games and so much fun remaking this classic. We can only hope that you have enjoyed playing as well, and will continue having fun with friends for a long time to come.
On a final note, as a parting gift we have made sure that the Gauntlet pre-order items will be available for all PC players for free beginning today.

Why would they give the pre-order items away? Will they be refunding the people who paid to pre-order? Nope.
