Neat card game. Sortof drags on and such.. Mildly interesting.
A lot of things are subtly stupid.
- You cannot abort or speed up a lot of the stupidity. Thankfully pressing start will abort some dialogue etc. There should be a “shut the fuck up and play” toggle, which stops the idle chatter etc.
- You cannot turn off the main game music or effects.. those controls only work in-game. =/
- You have to remember what cards your opponents have, because at critical junctures you can’t go and look.
- When moving, and being given multiple paths to walk down, you cannot view your hand or look around. So again you have to remember what you have in order to correctly choose where to walk to.
- I am often totally surprised by how things play out, because I am given misinformation on unit strength. A lot of things should be designed differently to make things a little more easy on the brain.
- The game CHEATS LIKE A MOTHERFUCKER! It “just happens” to get a certain card, then “just happens” to roll a certain amount.. and I am constantly screwed over by too-exact “randomness”.
-
You have to play (and lose) over and over and over to figure out what’s going on and to assemble a decently-competitive deck.
I walked through and figured out how to win. It has no ending.. I think.
There are these medals that you can get.. sortof. Mostly by accident, but then you have no clue how to get most of them and the hints all suck a lot.
So basically.. you work your ass off to figure things out, get things going and yet the game stays very boring.. and you don’t progress and the gameplay is the same thing over and over.. and .. it’s just like a real collectible card game!
