An archival program.

• p7zip is a port of 7za.exe for POSIX systems like Unix (Linux, Solaris, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Cygwin, AIX, …), MacOS X and also for BeOS and Amiga.

• 2020-03-19 – 19.00-x64 on Windows 10
• 2017-10-05 – 16.04 (16.4.0.20170506) on Windows 10
• 2016-10-16 – 7z1604-x64 on Windows 10
• 2016-03-29 – p7zip / 9.20.1 on Slackware 14.1
• 2016-03-26 – p7zip-full / 9.20.1~dfsg.1-4+deb7u1build0.14.04.1 on Lubuntu 14.04.4 LTS
• 2016-03-21 – 7z1514-x64 on Windows 10

• 2014-12-08 – 7z935-x64 perhaps on Windows XP

  • .. though “x64” makes me question that.

• Before this, I preferred RAR

  • .. but was generally stuck with tar and gzip / bzip2 on Linux.
