An incredible drama with spectacular acting.
While I consider this "youth-friendly" it's actually rated R for on-screen drug use, sexual language (including rape), and descriptions of abuse.

It's only okay. It's notable because it's somehow rated PG but is so utterly completely unsuitable to that rating; legendary.

Two young losers somehow make a hot woman who has magical powers.
One of the fundamental parts of this movie involves some really terrifyingly-old technology. Even back then it was comical. If that can be excused, the rest of this holds up perfectly.
So with that out of the way, I can highly recommend this. I know my nostalgia must cloud my judgement, but I still think it would be a fun movie for a first-timer. It's bubblegum.
I'm not sure how this was rated PG-13, as there is nudity in a couple of places, like in a magazine.
