Definitely worth a watch; good, though not great.

In Venezuela, when a democratically-elected socialist starts ruining the fourth largest oil industry in the world, using socialism, effort is made to initiate a regime change.

It begins as a pro-communist propaganda piece on how socialism didn’t do nothin’ wrong and real communism has never been tried. It gets good later on, as there are legitimate concerns actually being shown.

Feel free to look at this and compare it to current (2017-2018) reactions to United States president Donald Trump, because it will make your head explode.

You can thank events featured around this time, and the fucktardedness that followed, for plunging 90% of the population into poverty.. and I’m not exaggerating. This is the wealth-generation of socialism.

Inspired by the French Revolution, a rebellion is launched against Spaniards in South America.

This movie leverages the “yeah freedom!” but spins the old yarn that all of the rich are bad and oppressors and the poor are good and oppressed. Entertaining, though propagandistic. It is particularly interesting to think of the underlying themes of the events portrayed in this movie, and how Socialism has plunged Venezuela into a dark age. I don’t know that I would bother recommending this; it’s alright.

  • Although this is in Spanish, a tiny amount is English, and a tinier amount is in French.

A man wakes up naked with amnesia and seeks out his fiance from years ago.

Not great and not recommended. It’s got a shaky story and a weakly-portrayed world. Both the movie’s world and the film quality are particularly low. Its acting and speech are stiff.

  • In English, the title is Secret Wedding.

Having moved into a new place, a man gets caught in terrible circumstances when he discovers his neighbour is a research facility which built a prototype time machine.

A great movie. In the tradition of lower-budget movies, it emphasises atmosphere, writing and acting than special effects. In, in fact, has no special effects whatsoever.. and they’re not missed.

Highly recommended for fans of time travel movies. For others not familiar with this sub-genre, this’ll probably play like a mild mystery-horror.
