I finally re-read it years later. What a shitty book. But I can see where the ideas in Johnny Mnemonic – (1995 movie) came from (same author). Also, the roleplaying games GURPS Cyberpunk and Shadowrun really do take from the genre. The roleplaying games are better than the book. =/

The book is an interesting mix of story and advice, bringing the reader through the experiences of “Mr. Tomkins”, a bright man who is open to learning.

An father takes his kid on a motorcycle road-trip across the United States, and recalls his past life, when he was insane, and the philosophies he had drowned in.
A terrible book, full stop.
