John Wick returns to alternately ruin and end his friends lives in the hopes of leveraging an obscure rule to free himself from .. whatever their assassins society is called.

It's adequate, but has nowhere near equality: I think one unimportant woman dies on-screen and then the body vanishes, another gets hurt, and this has to be the most brutally misandrist movie I've ever seen. Feminist approved!

The son of a criminal boss strikes a deal that goes bad, and veteran muscle becomes embroiled in the mess.

It's standard fare; nothing particularly interesting, but if you like this sort of thing then it's perfectly watchable.

A player advances through an illegal hyper-real virtual reality combat game.

Artistic, slow and bad.

  • Trailer

A man, waking with no memories and thought to be a serial killer, flees his pursuers and not only learns he isn't who they think he is, but they aren't who they think they are either.

A fantastic movie.. at no point was I bored. To me, this one of the foundations of a particular movie style. It isn't that it's whatever kind of "neo-noir" but that it tells a tale about reality itself.

Mediocre bullshit, with terrible choreografoo, shitty effects and generally shit all around.

If you like the first one you'll dislike this one. You'd have to love it to even tolerate this shit.

  • Properly titled John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum

In a futuristic Germany, a mute guy has relationship troubles.

An interesting world, but generally terrible writing.

  • German is unnecessarily sprinkled throughout this movie.
  • Intended as a spiritual successor to Moon - (2009 movie), though I don't see how.

A broken man, having done the hokey pokey as an assassin, is forced back in. Again.

Adequate. It borrows from feelings and elements of other movies, and does a mediocre job of entertaining.

  • Properly titled John Wick: Chapter 2
