A hitman is witnessed just after a job, and becoming a suspect pushes his employers put a hit out on him.

While I can imagine this being really cool at the time, it certainly isn't any more. It has a slow moody atmosphere with a main character stiff enough to be a walking corpse. It's also just shy of being a silent film.

I only finished watching it because of the similarity Ghost Dog - (1999 movie) has with it, because I like that movie.

A recently-ex-con world-renown hacker is swept into the well-planned efforts to fund long-term anti-terrorist terrorism.

I-like-hyphens.

Ignoring the Hollywood-hacker bullshit, it's a good movie, particularly because so few, at least at its release, would be so A-class and yet have this particular topic. It helps shape the understanding of the passion behind Lawful Evil.

When his missing daughter turns up with a mark on her back, an ex-con fights to keep them both safe.

Dirty, dangerous and to-the-point. As always, Mel Gibson plays this stereotypical role of his quite well. If you like him in his other gritty movies, you'll like this one.

Tired of lax justice, two brothers become particularly effective vigilantes against the criminal element in their greater area.

I don't know what to say about this movie. It's fantastic. Good characters, a good story and with a good flow to it.

A young, broken, man, enters an underground community of computer crackers, trying desperately to prove himself but with consequences.

An extremely good movie. While not quite mandatory, it's definitely a proper advancement of the "hacker kid" movies that have sullied past movies. Highly recommended, even for people that "know their stuff", as it doesn't lay on the techno-babble which describes everything painfully wrong. Instead, it takes a reasonable middle ground, staying away from pop culture and fairly-firmly on the social side of storytelling.

A kid goes mad and then vigilante after witnessing the murder of his mother.

This is nothing like batman, honest. This is an awkward movie that would have been better off cut-down and presented as a series pilot. A series made of this would, of course, have failed. While this movie does present a better angle for the insanity behind vigilanteism, it's lacking overall. I don't empathise with the character at all, which I think is the entire point of this angle of movie.

A group of friends gets in deep and bumbles into crime to settle things.

Reminds me a lot of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels (1998) crossed with The Usual Suspects (1995). Overall it's fair, but not that great and absolutely not worth a second watch.
