After a convicted murderer's execution, and when copycat killers become suicides, the original detective is dragged into what becomes a vastly more complex case.

Although I wouldn't recommend this broadly, it was so impactful that I could only sketch out a vague description from memory and had to wait for the inception of artificial intelligence to help me track it down.

A mild mannered professor is thought to be older than he appears.

It's a little off in places, but has a nice consistent tone. Recommended only if you loved it's earlier movie, The Man from Earth - (2007 movie).

An old man is surprised to learn has has 19 year old daughter, who becomes embroiled in a web of vengeance and violence set against him.

I really like this movie. It might play out as too flat for most people, but for me the character was well-crafted and acted.

Like few movies, He Never Died explores age and power at its extreme. Fans of Interview with the Vampire - (1994 movie), for example, should appreciate such elements.

A veteran mercenary is double-crossed and finds himself blacklisted into becoming a general in hell's army.

This is a very high low-budget movie. It's over-the-top, corny but only almost-fun. Some of the effects are amazing, but some are so damned bad I can't imagine how they thought this could be anything more than a middling success. From a writing perspective, it's not bad moment-to-moment, but the overall plot is a bit stupid.

This has nothing going for it but the incredible acting of a clown.

A highly-virulent weaponized virus breaks containment and wreaks havoc.

It starts strong then goes downhill into some odd religious stuff. Generally terrible later on. Worth watching if you're into this genre.
