In L2Disc - An overview of Discipline Priest raiding, I mentioned that I wanted an AddOn which can track my Prayer of Mending. Specifically, I want to know when I should be casting it so it's bouncing around out in the field.
Some people don't care, because they regularly re-cast it. I find this rather inefficient, although I do see how it can be annoying to have the mending "stuck" on some too-rarely-damaged pet.
Other people talk about having HealBot or Grid display a Prayer of Mending icon. This isn't useful at all to me, because it doesn't notify me when it's absent - there's just too much stuff going on for me to deal with scanning 25 raid positions for that icon. On top of that, could I even configure either of them to deal with multiple instances of Prayer of Mending bouncing around, cast by multiple Priests? Probably not. Besides, I really despise both of those AddOns and I won't use them so I'm not going to stress over this.
So I need some other solution. This sounds like a common problem, and one which is interesting for a programmer to solve.. so there must be something out there, right? Well not really.

This found heavy use until Blizzard made sufficient UI improvements to obsolete the need for frames addons.

An AddOn to make raid fights easier. Although Blizzard added similar functionality into many of their fights, I consider this absolutely mandatory.
For most people I'd say "just install it". It does need some significant configuration for many fights, and for my minimalistic taste. I mean, who the fuck cares about an enrage timer bar?
Note that, to reduce the size/complexity of the addon, they maintain the current expansion's content as one addon, and other expansions in other addons (listed on their page).

I use this for clicking on frames to heal that target.
The addon that I may have used the longest. Absolutely mandatory, especially for healers.

A quest helper which lists comments for various quests.

Combine your bags into a single, larger one, yet gives the power to choose which bags to combine. Great to consolidate your bags, but don't want to always see the contents of your soul shard bag or ammo bag.
It's simple and works very well. No searching or automatic sorting, grouping etc.

A floating "crazy-taxi" style arrow that points you to your destination.
Really simple. I miss the glaring arrow overtop of my character which Cartographer did.
