During World War II, a lucky Soviet soldier is fictionalized into a hero, but he truly earns that distinction only to find himself up against the German’s very best.

With a good pace and atmosphere, this movie is riveting.

A mercenary group is sent to an island for training exercises, only to learn that it was being used to train military robots.

Although pretty stiff because of the lead character, this is a decent enough movie. Worth watching for science fiction fans, but not for military movie fans.

The war with the bugs rages on, with humanity starting to lose, but something about god and wining and things.

This started off as a great or at lease decent tv-movie, but its “wrap up” took enough of a nosedive to spoil it. It has a much higher budget and is generally better than part two, but.. that ending, man. That ending. This is still worth a once-watch for fans of the original.

Soldiers flee an unwinnable battle, but find themselves trapped in a bunker surrounded by an enemy desperate to get in.

Recommended for fans of the original who can tolerate less character development, story and budget. It’s definitely not bad.

Aliens are sending spores to colonize Earth, but when humans send a retaliatory force to their homeworld they learn the bugs are a far more dangerous foe than anticipated.

It’s a largely flawless movie. Amazing fun for what it is, which is the sort of military movie where only one soldier runs out of ammo once in the entire movie.

An ancient discovery in Egypt, from before the pyramids, is found to be a gateway to another world which is still kept as a slave planet by Ra, a self-appointed god who is an alien just trying to get by.

A fantastic movie. Not exactly mandatory. Perhaps elements of it don’t feel like they have held up well, or maybe there has been so much excellent science fiction before, during and since its time.

Navy Seals vs. Zombies (2015) poster

Baton Rouge, Louisiana is ground zero for a zombification-virus.

While not great, it could have done a whole lot worse. Navy Seals vs. Zombies is probably worth a watch for zombie and military fans, if there’s nothing better around.

I didn’t get through it. It had nothing interesting to offer me.

An ex-commando’s daughter is kidnapped in a ploy to have him help overthrow a foreign government, but this single father will instead fight to rescue her.

This is a movie that gets to the god damned point. It’s full of tension and action, and every other line is memorable. It holds up exceptionally well, only being unsurprisingly limited by the lack of mobile phones in 1985.

I really hope you like steel drums.
