Great pace, tone and overall “feel”. Suspenseful, interesting and intriguing. I feel as though this movie doesn’t dumb itself down for its audience, because there really isn’t any opportunity for it to make a choice either way.

This is a strange example that not all martial arts movies are either action or thriller. This is decent bubblegum if you’re into this style of movie. It’s not cheesy, it’s just dated.

A poor village is robbed, and a young man sets out to retrieve the village’s most prized possession.
Quite good and holds up well. In context there were very few movies of this grit out at the time, and it really made waves.
Note that Ong Bak 2 – (2008 movie) is not a sequel. There is no sequel, and I’m not trying to be funny about this. It literally is not a sequel or related in any way.
