As a commentary on Edward Snowden or WikiLeaks or some such, a list, that somehow exists, is out in the clear and being hunted by various spies.

It would have made a huge difference had this not been portrayed as a flashback/debriefing. Because of this complete failure in storytelling, there was no sense of risk at all; an important part of a spy movie like this.

A superspy agency suffers apocalyptic disaster as a precursor to a global hostage act.

A-list actors join to demonstrate their irrelevancy. This is a mildly amusing movie.. but with a lack of comedy and uninteresting action, it’s not recommended.

As part of a delaying tactic for an internal power struggle at the Central Intelligence Agency, an everyman is pointed out as a pawn to be followed as a delaying tactic.

A fantastic, classic, movie. It’s simple and with a light tone. I don’t think it’s particularly recommendable now, but I still like it.

Something something Hungary something mole.

An incredibly slow and boring movie.

Desperate for intelligence, a brutal killer is implanted with the memories of a dead operative.

A surprisingly good movie. While not wholly original, it’s a good mix of interesting elements. This isn’t really a spy movie, and has a surprisingly strong emphasis on characters.

A brainwashed CIA assassin who tried to retire-hide in India with his commonlaw-wife gets pulled into a mystery and stuff when she is killed in an attempt to frame him.

More of the same. Forgettable. It’s not worth continuing this series.

A man is fished from the sea and has no memory. He is on the run, but he can use a gun, and a little martial arts like Bruce Lee.

Long and drawn out, with a plot that doesn’t even remotely begin to make any sense whatsoever until the movie is basically over.

Brings nothing to the table. I think this was successful not because it’s any good but because it was shown during a drought of movies in this genre-ballpark.

A non-secret organization learns of an assassination plot against the delegation of a new country, and brings on board the ex-girlfriend of the man in charge to save them.

Good enough to spark my interest in these old cheezy spy movies and shows.

I’m not sure how to describe this movie. It’s .. it doesn’t have the sort of consistency that makes it stick in memory enough to try.

It both feels like it has a plot line and that it’s all over the place. Overall it neither crafts a “feeling” nor has memorable characters. It was watchable enough to get through it all without really cringing, but it’s definitely not re-watchable and I wouldn’t recommend it even as bubblegum viewing. It’s successor, Hitman – Agent 47 (2015)[doesn’t exist], is way better.

  • Trailer
  • Executive producer.. Vin Diesel? Oh.

Two agents become an unlikely pair to thwart the creation and deployment of a nuclear warhead.

I overall liked this. It has a classy feel something like the old James Bond films but with its own flavour. Younger fans of that genre will likely also like this movie.
