Having discovered an interplanetary teleporter, humans bumble around by sending teams through to other worlds.

Pretty good. It’s definitely got the “TV series” feel to it, which explains how many seasons there are.

  • See Stargate viewing order. This series follows from Stargate – (1994 movie)

    • Watching that movie is not mandatory to watch this series.
    • This series has different actors.
  • The stylized “A” in the title (with the middle bar missing and the circle over it) is a reference to that symbol representing the Earth when programming a stargate.

Alien Strain (2014) image

The schizophrenic perspective of a man regarding his girlfriend.

This is one of those movies whose accurate description would spoil it. Overall I liked this movie, but I can easily see how others would not like this style of story telling. I strongly disliked the overall pacing and resolution. They seemed mistimed and more and more rushed toward the end.

While I liked it well enough, this isn’t a movie I’d re-watch and isn’t something I’d generally recommend. Lovers of a certain topic or flavour of movie would probably like this one, but it would be impossible to know how to match those people with this movie.

I’m not sure how to describe this movie. It’s .. it doesn’t have the sort of consistency that makes it stick in memory enough to try.

It both feels like it has a plot line and that it’s all over the place. Overall it neither crafts a “feeling” nor has memorable characters. It was watchable enough to get through it all without really cringing, but it’s definitely not re-watchable and I wouldn’t recommend it even as bubblegum viewing. It’s successor, Hitman – Agent 47 (2015)[doesn’t exist], is way better.

  • Trailer
  • Executive producer.. Vin Diesel? Oh.

An dying old rich man has his mind transferred to a younger body, and learns the dark secrets of the process.

Overall a good movie. It’s not particularly science-fictiony, but it does explore an interesting topic.

Hitman - Agent 47 (2015) poster

A super-soldier program falls apart when its author goes rogue, but when its heirs move to re-capture him, not only does one of his creations turn against them but so does his greatest creation, his daughter.

What was, in so many respects, an original piece in an original world, it has various inappropriate quips and so obviously draws from other sources that it wears thin for a fan of them. Definitely recommended, but I’ll leave it up to the viewer to decide on if they’d re-watch it. I reference several other sources which ought to be watched at some point, and I think their viewing would reveal just how thin this movie is. Good, but thin.

  • Properly titled Hitman: Agent 47

The world goes to shit when weather control satellites are taken over by an artificial intelligence.

Fair, but TV-quality. Strongly borrows from The Terminator – (1984 movie) franchise.

Random people go on a merry adventure looking for Luke.

DO NOT WATCH Not just because it takes a steaming dump overtop of the already steaming dumpyness of the prequels, but because it’s badly written and unresolved. Go and watch The Matrix Reloaded – (2003 movie) instead. That piece of shit somehow has less issues.

A crew on route to a space station learns that it’s crippled by a meteor storm.

It’s 1990s quality. Seeing as it’s a TV movie, that’s not surprising. Overall it’s fair, but I wouldn’t recommend it.

  • aka Black Horizon
  • There is the occasional unsubtitled Russian language bit, but they are meant to be unobtrusive.
