A drug reveals an alien world.
It has undertones which could make it very disturbing, however it is half-tainted by and half-infused with comedy. With a unique universe and being extremely watchable, this is definitely memorable and enjoyable.
I’ve heard it described as Evil Dead II – (1987 movie) meets Naked Lunch – (1991 movie). I think it also has a bit of the spirit of They Live – (1988 movie). If you know and liked those films, you’ll like this one.
A must-watch.

I hate hate hate horror movies, but this kindof isn’t one. This is absolutely mandatory viewing.

Aliens crash land on earth and vaguely assimilate.
It’s quaint, choke-full of stars and amusing in it’s era. I don’t know that I’d consider it particularly good these days because it leans all the way into an alien culture clash, but it’s nice.

A boy-genius is brought into an elite university to work on a laser project with a genius-misfit, but after its spectacular success they learn of its nefarious purpose.
While old, it holds up perfectly. A great movie, with a bunch of laugh-out-loud moments. Unlike the “frat boy” movies which are all about booze and boobs, this one shows genius with its hacker spirit.

(on Wikipedia) The crew of a plane get food poisoning, and only a man with PTSD has a chance to pilot it. Full of dad-humor, this is definitely only good for people who can handle silly and pointless humor. Notable for being very adult even though it was rated PG. There were better parents back then.
