I’ll take proper notes when I re-watch this.

Outpost 37 (2014) poster

A documentary following soldiers fighting the aliens left over from an invasion.

I rather liked this! People talk about this being low budget, but until it’s pointed out I doubt someone would really notice.

Ghostbusters (2016) image

Having fallen from grace, two friends are reunited in their pursuit of ghosts, eventually forming a band of four who fight them. And stuff.

This is neither a sequel to the actual Ghostbusters – (1984 movie), nor is it anything in its style or quality. It’s just a theft of the franchise. It shits all over it. Ignoring all of that, it’s still an awful movie on its own.

This is not a comedy! Don’t mistake it for one! The only funny scene had nothing to do with the main characters.

This is a steaming pile of shit. Do not watch it!

This is officially non-cannon.

Modify (2005) image

Entertainment > Movies >

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0455980/

Stories of people who regard augmenting their bodies as a way of life, whether for artistic reasons or out of pure vanity.

A movie about people who feel so trapped in their body they desperately want to control it. A community that’s basically a hugbox that shackles them together for encouragement.

Look Who's Back (2015) German language poster

Hitler is pulled into his future, and being able to do nothing but be himself, he is taken to be a comedian.

I know this is meant as a comedy, but.. it’s just off. It’s worth a watch, but just the one. It touches on quite a lot of .. well touchy subjects. Perhaps this movie will greatly improve in time, while things aren’t so sensitive.

Saving Private Ryan (1998) poster

Entertainment > Movies >

A dude goes places and does things, looking for some stuff I think. There are explosions and is smoking.

Noted here just for one of those “oh, I’ve seen that” references.

I don’t recall particularly liking or disliking it.

Enemy at the Gates (2001) poster

Entertainment > Movies >

(on Wikipedia)

During World War II, a lucky Soviet soldier is fictionalized into a hero, but he truly earns that distinction only to find himself up against the German’s very best.

With a good pace and atmosphere, this movie is riveting.

  • Based on Enemy at the Gates: The Battle for Stalingrad (1973 book), by William Craig

Approaching the Unknown (2016) poster

Entertainment > Movies >

(on Wikipedia)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2674430/

A guy who builds the technology to turn dirt into water goes to Mars, and even though he knows the ship better than anyone else, somehow, he has trouble on the way.

A patient, somewhat interesting movie. Worth watching if you’re into such things, but definitely not if you’re new to this style.

I watched the whole thing, and don’t really regret it, but I wouldn’t categorize this as anywhere near awesome.

Wreck-It Ralph (2012) poster

In a world where video game characters are alive, a lonely bad guy tries to earn appreciation but ends up threatens ruin.

A fun movie, most appropriate for the nostalgia fans of various old arcade games. It goes very very old, like Pixels – (2015 movie), which puts it in a particularly odd space. I think this one ends up being childish and unique enough that its various reference aren’t in the way of an actual proper movie.

Kill Command (2016) poster

Entertainment > Movies >

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2667380/

A mercenary group is sent to an island for training exercises, only to learn that it was being used to train military robots.

Although pretty stiff because of the lead character, this is a decent enough movie. Worth watching for science fiction fans, but not for military movie fans.
