Scan stuff, and examine the picture to find language and store that as usable text characters.
NAPS2 6.1.2 has it working automagically!

How to create a bottom bar for both monitors.
I’m certain these instructions work with three displays, but any more than three would get weird.
Note that it isn’t possible to have two trays (for things like a status icon). I don’t know why.
These instructions were tested, and re-tested multiple times on devuan_ascii_2.0.0-rc_i386_dvd-1 on bare metal. They worked fine, but they magically stopped working, and so I’m giving up on this technology; it’s too fucking hard to use.
Computer security: Devuan + dm-crypt >
Devuan‘s installer has an encryption feature, but it formats your whole hard drive and uses LVM, neither of which I want.
Where a / (root) partition is encrypted (dm-crypt) and in use.
Install Devuan, re-using the encrypted partition without re-encrypting/formatting from scratch.
Note – I will be writing separate instructions on how to manually make and manage encrypted partitions.
For more information on encryption, see dm-crypt.

Problem: Given an item in the Internet Archive, e.g. The works of Ralph Waldo Emerson, you may be tempted to download the PDF for its exactness. Admirable! However, my e-reader is horribly slow for opening it and turning pages. I find slow page turning aggravating; it makes me lose my train of thought and strains my reading comprehension.
Solution: Download a different format of individual images, bulk-scale them down exactly to your device’s screen, then package the images back into one single file.
This extra work is well worth it for me.
TODO – See also PDF? I haven’t tested it, but I wonder if “repairing” a PDF would also help with e-reader speed.
