Failed-scientists begin a ghost capturing service, and the need for their services grows, threatening all of New York city.

I don't have a lot of movies anything like this which I could consider listing as mandatory, so this one gets in pretty easily.

The Earth is ruined by aliens, and survivors don't really.

It's good, but it's entire first part comes across like a visual novel and the whole short feels like an awkward intro to a full movie. It's still a fine effort but not strongly recommended. Flagged as both liked and disliked.

Survivors of an alien attack crash next to a prison and learn that the alien came with them.

This was my first movie with a shaved-headed woman. I guess I was all "oh no she di'int, now wesa gettin serioooos".

In my mind, the franchise was significantly weakened by this movie. It just didn't "feel right". Perhaps the previous two were so good that they became too tough to follow, but after yet another re-watch this movie really just doesn't seem all that good.

  • Alternately titled ALIEN3

Waking from long hibernation, a woman claims to be the survivor of an alien attack from a planetoid which has since become a terraforming colony.

A direct descendent of Alien - (1979 movie), this movie not only builds on but improves on the movie, turning this into a blockbuster franchise.

A crew of civilians investigates a distress beacon, but it turn out to be a warning that they were too late to heed.

Alien is another "first to get there" movie which has set the bar for its sub-genre.

It has a dirty old-but-futuristic look to it that really stretches its technological and budgetary limitations. As it turns out, this has given the movie incredible longevity. For a movie as old as this, it easily stands the test of time.

A brainwashed daughter and her manipulative mother practice a con to satisfy their hypergamy, but love gets in the way.

Mediocre, but worth a watch if you're fairly interested. It has some moments, but it's got a kind of campy attitude. While it has a plot, it hand-waves plot-critical character decisions. For me, this wasn't even a bubblegum-movie. It hurt my brain to sit through it, and only the blistering hotness of Jennifer Love Hewitt could keep me interested.

Facing hard times, The Ghostbusters are called back into action when the city's mood dips deep into anger.

Definitely not as good as Ghostbusters - (1984 movie), but an adequate film nonetheless.

  • Properly titled Ghostbusters II.

The survivors of an alien attack struggle to stay alive aboard their research vessel, and learn its true purpose.

Perhaps because Alien 3 - (1992 movie) wasn't as amazing as the first two, Alien: Resurrection wasn't that impactful. I think it was a cop-out of an odd reboot.

  • Properly titled Alien: Resurrection
