A lawyer becomes entangled in intelligence when he accepts a defense case for a Soviet spy.

I’m not sure what to say about this movie. It’s quite good. I like historical intelligence movies.

Soldiers, separated from their opposing factions, travel with the last techno-druid to their sacred land, hoping for knowledge.

I wanted this to be good, but it’s as though it had all the most boring parts of any random anime, except this was live-action. Not recommended, even for people who might like the concept.

Thought dead, an astronaut is left behind on Mars and desperately tries to stay alive and communicate with home.

Not exactly in the caliber of so many other science fiction films, but it’s lighthearted and generally decent.

The people of Detroit are being forcefully evicted and relocated to a corporate-owned city.

Unless you’re a serious fan, just give this a pass. It doesn’t really build on the franchise and it’s corny.

Based on the life of John Forbes Nash, Jr., the nobel prize winning mathematician, this film explores his life, genius and madness.

Media which explore intelligence, its quirks and consequences are (obviously) rarer than the geniuses themselves. That this movie has appealed to a broad audience, helping embrace and enlighten more typical people, is rarer still. This movie is very strongly recommended.

A time capsule shot into space back in 1982 is received as a declaration of war by aliens, who respond with multiple waves of 1980s video games-made-real, which only lifetime-loser video game nerds can face.

Uh. From the ground up, this movie cannot work. It’s a kids movie which relies upon the nostalgia only a handful of middle-aged men might have but hopefully won’t.

Barely Lethal (2014) poster

Kids are trained as secret agents and assassins, but one girl wants a normal life.

This is a cutesy teen movie. Complete bubblegum. Not to be mistaken for a spy movie. That notion would risk heavy offence from so much hollow girlishness.

Maybe if you liked braindead teen flicks you’d be into this. I don’t, so I wasn’t.

Dawn of the Dragonslayer (2011) poster

A young man survives a dragon attack that kills his father, and he vows revenge.

I guess it’s ok. I like these sorts of fantasy films, but this one wasn’t particularly entertaining.

While doing everyday things in space, debris tears through everything leaving survivors on a desperate yet somehow extremely slow-paced race to survive.

Not memorable in any way. Do not watch.
