They band together to save the planet from Galactus, a world-consuming alien.

Mediocre.

Two orphans become witch hunters.

This is not horror. It’s kindof a light action film. Quite good.

The style is medieval-meets-western. I’ve seen other movies which do this, and I like it quite a lot.

Unnecessarily foul language. It’s jarring.

Great effects, camera work and general atmosphere.

A mortally-wounded cop is used as the foundation to build a police robot meant to be a tool for control but whose artificially-repressed memories and inerrant awesomeness surface to save the day.

This was a great movie in the day, and I’d bet I’m biased in saying it’s still great.

A military science experiment haunts local Yugoslavians when the infected turn into madmen.

An amateurish zombie movie with nothing interesting to add to the genre. It’s worth a watch if you’re zombie movies, otherwise don’t bother.

Based on the life of John Forbes Nash, Jr., the nobel prize winning mathematician, this film explores his life, genius and madness.

Media which explore intelligence, its quirks and consequences are (obviously) rarer than the geniuses themselves. That this movie has appealed to a broad audience, helping embrace and enlighten more typical people, is rarer still. This movie is very strongly recommended.

A corporate drone goes mad and spirals into psychopathy, violently lashing out at society.

An absolutely mandatory film. As heavy-handed as its anti-corporatism is, it has fantastic subtleties requiring multiple viewings. There are very few movies which can achieve this level of watchability. This is absolutely an A-class dudebro movie.

A nerd fulfils his dream of being on the high school football team and has a crush on a geek girl, a desperately lonely single mother and an ex-assassin neighbour.

Not a dudebro movie and not a chick flick. I’m not sure where this stands, but it’s watchable.

A hooker is picked up by a business man and they end up spending a week together, encouraging both her transformation and his.

Strongly disliked. With overtones of all manner of female masterbatory bullshit from hypergamy to princess-saving, this film is a tooth-grinder.

A time capsule shot into space back in 1982 is received as a declaration of war by aliens, who respond with multiple waves of 1980s video games-made-real, which only lifetime-loser video game nerds can face.

Uh. From the ground up, this movie cannot work. It’s a kids movie which relies upon the nostalgia only a handful of middle-aged men might have but hopefully won’t.
