A group of superpowered purchased-orphans try to save the world.
Fair at best, but not for me.
Based on The Umbrella Academy – (2007+ comics)

An optics specialist is sent to investigate the unusual readings the military is getting from his equipment.
A solid movie all around. Great action and a good world, but with enough fuzzy science and The A-Team-style jury-rigging to rivet it solidly to TV-movie quality.

A family is lost in space.
It’s not bad, but the tone bothers me. It’s so tryhard “epic” that it’s strained.
Inspired by Lost in Space – (1965 show)

In a futuristic Germany, a mute guy has relationship troubles.
An interesting world, but generally terrible writing.
Intended as a spiritual successor to Moon – (2009 movie), though I don’t see how.

Pseudo-immortality is reached when alien technology allows humans to save their consciousnesses to reusable disks, and a criminal’s disk is brought online from deep storage, for him to investigate the crime against an ancient and powerful man.
Finally, a science fiction show with real depth and darkness. Highly recommended.
I forgot season 1 and so it basically goes to confusing shit in season 2 so I gave up.

Yet another buddy cop movie, but this time instead of <random race> it is an Orc, and instead of </random><random drugs> it’s magic.
An adequate movie.

Hundreds of years from now, surviving humans discover how to send consciousness back through time, into people of the 21st century, while attempting to change the path of humanity.
Kinda not bad.

A machine somehow shows that a piece of a person goes somewhere else, and stupid people assume there is an afterlife.
A straightforward drama-type movie.
What’s the opposite of brain candy? It numbs the mind in a kind of monotone hum. While I originally said “terrible writing for a terrible world with terrible characters” on second viewing maybe that’s harsh; I actually kinda like it.
