The world is invaded and destroyed by a vastly superior force of aliens, and survivors barely hold on to resistance.
Future people go back to the past.
Being watched.. seems fair at best for now.
The world goes to shit because people want Facebook in their brains.
I really have no idea what's going on with this; it hops around to different groups and story and timelines..
- Properly titled H+: The Digital Series
Abandoned - A second season was announced, but then there was dead air.
Colonists from a ruined Earth struggle to survive on a distant world.
An alternate Earth is discovered somehow, and for unknown reasons the mission to explore it comes back to a ruined Earth.
The writing is just terrible; I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with the plot or the world-building.
A highly-virulent weaponized virus breaks containment and wreaks havoc.
It starts strong then goes downhill into some odd religious stuff. Generally terrible later on. Worth watching if you're into this genre.
Pseudo-immortality is reached when alien technology allows humans to save their consciousnesses to reusable disks, and a criminal's disk is brought online from deep storage, for him to investigate the crime against an ancient and powerful man.
Finally, a science fiction show with real depth and darkness. Highly recommended.
I forgot season 1 and so it basically goes to confusing shit in season 2 so I gave up.
TODO - I'll add notes when I get around to re-re-watching this.
TODO - Is this out in blu-ray?
Particularly notable for its subtle and overt corporate jamming, Max Headroom was unique and wildly popular in its day but, for reasons unknown to me and not yet researched, had its life cut short.
I think I give my high personal rating because of its strong influences on my perceptions of the world. Perhaps it would not hold up today, but I'll note that on my eventual re-watch.
- TODO - The movie Max Headroom: 20 Minutes into the Future
