A great MMORPG with spectacular mechanics but no endgame.

I had a lot of fun with it way back when, but my most recent visit had me wandering around in circles for an inexcusable length of time. An utter failure. Still highly recommended.

If you have Borderlands 2, stick with it until you’ve played through it, through its true vault hunter mode and through every. single. DLC. There are a lot.

Then buy this, but only if you’re a serious fan of Borderlands 2.

If you are new to the series and new to Borderlands 2, go buy and play Borderlands 2! It’s great. This is just more of that, but with added obnoxiousness.

A Connect Four-like game, with some goofyness akin to the various Tetris remakes.

Boring as sin. The free flash game from a decade ago is the exact same thing.

A MOBA which also has good bots.

Like all the other “safe” games Blizzard has created, Heroes of the Storm is an accessible MOBA (Multiplayer online battle arena) game. It’s pretty, plays well, and os reasonably fun. It has excellent bots to beat up for a chill game. Voice support makes it great.

I play a bunch of it, and like it. I don’t PvP. The versus AI started out being really boring but improved a lot over time.

  • Full ultrawide support, even in windowed fullscreen. It’s a big difference.

A top-down hack-and-slash game based on the Gauntlet franchise but with different controls, abilities and general gameplay.

This seemed like a good idea at the time, but turned out to be a pretty shitty experience. Not recommended.

All the Earth is in peril, but everyday people have been given super powers.. except half of them become villains, for some reason.

The interface and controls weren’t pleasant for me. Probably the biggest nuisance was not having set a colour scheme on my chest because I made myself bare-chested.

A fixed-angle-view roguelike.

My general conclusion is that it’s a good game, but doesn’t have enough variety of abilities.

Path of Exile – (2013 game) is better in terms of difficulty, complexity and player-immersion. In fact, Diablo 3 has been copying features straight from Path of Exile. Doing things badly, but, still, obviously copying.

The Minecraft for EverQuest Next.

I was invited to the closed beta in 2014-06-15. I tried it for maybe 45 minutes before throwing my hands up in complete disgust.

I have no interest in this now that EverQuest Next has been aborted.
