TO GET – The director’s cut doesn’t have the opening spoiler narration.

A man, waking with no memories and thought to be a serial killer, flees his pursuers and not only learns he isn’t who they think he is, but they aren’t who they think they are either.

A fantastic movie.. at no point was I bored. To me, this one of the foundations of a particular movie style. It isn’t that it’s whatever kind of “neo-noir” but that it tells a tale about reality itself.

Aliens crash land on earth and vaguely assimilate.

It’s quaint, choke-full of stars and amusing in it’s era. I don’t know that I’d consider it particularly good these days because it leans all the way into an alien culture clash, but it’s nice.

In a world where virtual reality is the primary lifestyle, a “mixed world” private detective is tasked to track down terrorists.

While it has a crazy amount of narration, it is really intelligent and subtle.

Born as the survivor of a bitten-pregnancy, a part-vampire “day walker” continues his crusade amidst one of their ranks’ power play for leadership.

A classic movie, before the whole superhero genre got entirely out of hand. It’s an unfortunate rewriting of the original comic book, but it does well with what it has. It’s blunt and stiff, yet entertaining.

It has only a couple of moments of technology which feel old, otherwise it has held up well.

Real Genius - (1985 movie) poster

A boy-genius is brought into an elite university to work on a laser project with a genius-misfit, but after its spectacular success they learn of its nefarious purpose.

While old, it holds up perfectly. A great movie, with a bunch of laugh-out-loud moments. Unlike the “frat boy” movies which are all about booze and boobs, this one shows genius with its hacker spirit.
