If you want things done right, you have to do them yourself. I’ve always had problems with every program I’ve ever used. Some of these problems are a matter of the difference in taste or philosophy which I have. Other problems are quite fundamental.

In my opinion it’s pretty straightforward to please me, but most programmers simply do not think like I do. Well.. I’m going to endeavour to learn to program so I can write the apps I require. There’s just too much crap. Way too much.

I broke down and ranted. This has been on my mind for a long time now, and I’m going to officially set my philosophy.. I’m no longer going to go the techy route. I don’t care anymore. I’m not going to waste my life dinking with crap. I’d rather waste it writing about not wasting my life drinking with crap. So there.

The secure erasure of data.

I’ve also heard this called “data sanitization”.

NOTE – This information IS BAD. Other methods must be used to actually securely erase hard drives, but this project was killed before I could investigate them.

NOTE – Sterilizing SSDs are a totally different topic than sterilizing hard drives. I wouldn’t trust an SSD to be securely erasable at all. For an SSD, use fire. Yes, this means that you cannot give, sell or return an SSD if it had sensitive data on it.
