A breakthrough in rapid genetics-alteration has unintended side-effects.

I’m fond of the earlier ones, but I think they get classed as “nostalgia”. This is a very good movie, and that’s likely enhanced by Emma Stone, who is incredibly attractive in dress, appearance and action.

After the assassination of his father, a new king is crowned for an insular but extraordinary nation, but he does not go unchallenged.

I decided to watch this, breaching my “no more superhero movies” position, because there was some fascinating drama surrounding it.

Not recommended: I can’t understand why anyone would think this is particularly good for any particular reason. Aside from being all manner of racist, it does not provide any intellectual cud to chew on.

Logan - (2017 movie) image

Logan (Wolverine) gets tangled up with a girl fleeing a mutant research and breeding lab that is definitely nothing like that of Dark Angel – (2000 show).

Not recommended.

This is like a DC version of X-Men. It was passable at best, and a good way to put the whole series and concept of comic book movies to bed. I think I’ll end them all on this low note.

  • 2:30 — The claw thing is a reference to drunk men having trouble achieving full erection.
  • 3:15 — Shooting him didn’t do anything, why would they fight him, let alone try to stab him?
  • 4:00 — Texas license plate WER 112

    • Is he in Texas?
  • 4:15 —

    • West 62 — Is that West Virginia Route 62?
    • El Paso is in Texas. So apparently there were Spanish-speaking gangsters in Texas for some reason. Is that a thing?
  • 4:45 — So apparently he can (or needs to) flex bullets out now.
  • 5:00 — The year 2029
  • 5:15 — He’s a professional limousine driver.
  • 9:00 — “South of the border” a reference to Mexico.

  • 10:00 — He is presumably now in Mexico.
  • 12:15 — Taco Bell
  • 13:45 — So I thought he was dead. Wasn’t he disintegrated a couple of movies ago?
  • 14:00 — What are those pills, anyway?
  • 14:30 —

  • 15:00 — Statue of Liberty

  • 18:45 —

  • 20:45 — The tag on the glasses means he just bought them, and the previous “cannot read” comment was apparently near-sightedness.
  • 22:00 — Canada
  • 23:15 — That’s an X-Men comic book, and I’m certain there are nerds who know what specific one it is.
  • 24:15 — North Dakota
  • 30:15 — Why not shoot him?
  • 34:00 — Ageing:

    • Octogenarian = 80-89 years old
    • Nongenarian = 90-99 years old
  • 35:00 — Kellogg’s Corn Flakes
  • 38:00 — Casual misandry.
  • 42:15 — They could catch up with them.. pretty trivially actually.
  • 43:15 — That’s a reference to Dracula?
  • 43:45 — OH! Is that the super-kid from some earlier movie? Oh, wait.. no.. no I just don’t know the reference to him working for their team.
  • 48:30 — Pringles

    • 48:45 — .. and a drink I don’t recognize.

  • 1:11:00 —

  • 1:17:30 — Corn syrup
  • 1:23:00 — Westchester, but I don’t know which one..
  • 1:46:45 — If they were all raised together, how can they have different accents?
  • 1:49:45 — Quadcopter
  • 1:56:30 — Why is any of that non-lethal? None of them were to be captured..
  • 1:58:00 — Why would they pause instead of shooting? Oh, more non-lethality for some reason.
  • 2:04:30 — How come he can’t just slash the cable?
  • 2:06:00 — It was already established that he can be stopped, so how come the vehicle didn’t temporarily-splat him?

I don’t even know where to begin with summarizing this mess.

I guess it’s watchable, but it’s not exactly exciting.

Supergirl is super, and something about the last of the fleet that isn’t the last, and Leia is immortal and shit characters and shit writing.

The earlier movies are mandatory for this. If you thought the earlier movies were shit, then this is the nail in the coffin. Just let the franchise die.

Lost in space, a member of a misfit band of space-mercenaries is found by his father.

Another boring semi-superhero movie. I expect this will be mildly entertaining for people who really liked the earlier one.

Iron Fist - (2017- television show) image

Entertainment > Television >

(on Wikipedia)
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt3322310/
https://www.netflix.com/title/80002612

The son of a billionaire family survives them in a plane crash in the Himalayas, and returns after being raised by monks only to find their ancient enemies throughout his old home and business. Basically Marvel’s Batman.

At first I was going to ignore this series, because the Iron Fist trailer made it look like utter trash, but the YUR A WHITE MALE “mainstream liberal media” response made me interested.

Even though the superhero genre is generally tiring, this show is well worth watching, and its response is a beautiful example of fake news manufactured by “social” “justice”.
