A warrior race escapes a decaying world by invading a new one.

I hold no strong opinion of this. It’s .. mediocre.

TODO – Oh god my DVD looks awful. I’m spoiled by Blu-Ray.

I’m not really sure what’s going on with this movie. Something about cyborgs and a guy who is in love with one that he’s trying to “resurrect”.

It’s an interesting watch, but probably only because it’s Korean. I don’t get to see a lot of foreign science fiction movies outside of the glut of Japanese anime. I sort of like it, but I tend to get confused in a couple of places. It’ll be recommended, but only to those of a similar mind to me.

Very good subtitles; very few were awkward for me.

Soldiers flee an unwinnable battle, but find themselves trapped in a bunker surrounded by an enemy desperate to get in.

Recommended for fans of the original who can tolerate less character development, story and budget. It’s definitely not bad.

  • Properly titled Starship Troopers 2: Hero of the Federation

A meteor (I think) strikes the Atlantic Ocean, sending tidal waves that not only scour shores but destroy entire continents, the resulting wave of which approaches Australia. Except the tidal wave is made of fire for some reason.

I’ve not much to say about it. It’s a decent movie.

To judge the Earth, aliens grant a single man the power of wishing, but he’s an everyday guy and has no idea how to handle it.

A moderately good movie, with solid comedy throughout it. I only really care about it because of its subject matter and the way it handles it. Strangely, he grants himself wisdom early on but never clues into using it to give him proper understanding of it and how to use it. That’s the major theme of the movie, and the source of its comedy.

Shoot stuff and things.

I played the open beta. I found it fun, but not worth money. When I was given it for free a while later, I didn’t find it all that great.

  • Has graphics reminiscent of Sanctum 2 – (2013 game).
  • Overwatch 2 – While it has PvE to some degree, the full talent trees and upgrades concept will not be implemented. (source)

Having been caught uncovering government secrets, an eight-year-old goes on the run.

While good, it’s a sort of non-movie. It’s hollow and without real substance or resolution.

Some of it reminds me of Race to Witch Mountain.

A plague hits New York and then the world, and New York operatives are activated to do stuff and things.

Not bad for a short-ish film. There are some characters who do stuff, and there is some plot-like activity. Recommended for fans of what I call the “ruined world” genre.

Seeking ancient Egyptian treasure Chinese artifacts, archaeologists unleash a curse that threatens the world. Only this time it’s about an ancient warlord’s cursed terracotta army.

Decently follows in the footsteps of the previous two movies, though replacing Rachel Weisz with Maria Bello is a terrible distraction. Anyone who likes the other two movies ought to like this one reasonably well. I think this is worth watching once or twice, but certainly hasn’t enough soul for collection like the first movie.

  • Properly titled The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
  • Some small scenes are spoken entirely in the Chinese language, probably Mandarin / Standard Chinese.
