Constantine (2014 - 2015) image

A man attains mystical powers originally for selfish reasons, but they taint with a life fraught with danger and demons.

Not a bad show, but the lead character’s personality isn’t attracting, and there’s the old celestial stick-up-the-ass personality in another. The lead female is hot. Hotty hot hot.

This was cancelled after one season. Back in the 90s this show would have done well, but I’m guessing this genre has alternately been well-poisoned or saturated. This show has too much it has to be better than to catch enough attention to survive. I think that it’s magic-fantasy was competing with an extraordinarily-strong superhero-fantasy genre.

Tired of lax justice, two brothers become particularly effective vigilantes against the criminal element in their greater area.

I don’t know what to say about this movie. It’s fantastic. Good characters, a good story and with a good flow to it.

  • TODO – A two-part comic book story, serving as a companion to the movie sequel, was released in May 2010.

Starship Troopers 3 - Marauder (2008) image

The war with the bugs rages on, with humanity starting to lose, but something about god and wining and things.

This started off as a great or at lease decent tv-movie, but its “wrap up” took enough of a nosedive to spoil it. It has a much higher budget and is generally better than part two, but.. that ending, man. That ending. This is still worth a once-watch for fans of the original.

The apocalypse happens, and a bunch of average celebrities try to survive.

Moderately terrible. Worth a watch if you like these particular actors and their previous works.

A girl, hiding in a church, writes a letter to the police who, without evidence, raise a stink.

I couldn’t get half way through this. Not only do the various genres in this movie not interest me, but it highlights “listen and believe”. I fucking guarantee that’s why Emma Watson is in this.

I didn’t get very far in before I threw my hands up in disgust.

This immediately comes off as a Christian propaganda film. Girl has doubts in JEEEESUSSSSS, is uncomfortable with her friends being called bad, learns they are bad, they do bad things.. then JEEEESUSSSSS and she was totally wrong and the true way was always god and stuff and praise the lord and by the way did I say praise the lord because totes praise him.

I didn’t stick around to get into that last bit. Maybe it’s a dark crime comedy and stuff, but fucked if I’m going to continue watching.

  • The “just like a video game” thing should be fucking illegal to put into a movie.

The surviving humans of a war against angels garrison themselves, and one of them is said to be their saviour.

Recommended. It’s got a lot of religion in it, but it’s generic.

I never did take notes for this. I probably should have. Maybe if I re-watch this series I will.

A one-room horror where angels descend to destroy all of mankind because god left, but a baby is to be the saviour of all mankind.

Meh. This isn’t a particularly good movie.

Dominion – (2014 show) is based on Legion. I wouldn’t consider this movie mandatory viewing before watching Dominion. In fact, I would recommend against viewing this movie because the series is so much better.

This is yet another unfinished piece. I’ve been thinking of some of these ideas on and off for some years, and some of it may make it into the fiction I’m writing.

If I had not a regular time machine, but some magical one, would I do with it?

I say magical because I imagine completing fairly vague and complex goals not achievable as myself simply going back and performing whatever action.

What could I accomplish? What would I do?
