A console file manager of some sort.
Tried twice. Both times 2005-06-19 or earlier. No version was recorded, and no notes were taken, aside from “it’s not intuitive”.

A keygrabber which can do various things based on key combinations. You don’t need to bother with Blackbox as your window manager if you don’t want.
.bbkeysrc has some configuration notes.

A windows program to update dynamic DNS services.
I used to use ipcheck. From DynDNS Updater I switched to IPCop‘s dyndns updating support.

This topic tends to be particular to Linux. Other operating systems like Windows have their own “window managers” integrated into every version.

A DOS emulation program.
Absolutely essential for emulating DOS not just within Windows or a traditional Linux environment, but within ARM/Linux as well, for palmtops and phones.
For games I’ve played via it, see /tag/dosbox-games (although the tag is new and not populated well)

A P2P daemon, which requires a network protocol such as openFT or gnutella. Any number of frontends are also recommended.
So far, giFT has proved to do what it is made for. Most problems will appear to me to be the fault of the frontend, but there may well need to be certain features inserted into either the openFT protocol, the giFT daemon or the frontend.. it’s difficult to say.
The software hasn’t had an update since 07 May 2005!
