Rescued from an unknown realm, a demon, raised as a monster-hunting government agent, faces his destiny and the destruction of the world.

A rather good movie, because it features a relatable and mortal character. The time of its release was not saturated with this genre, so it was gave a strong impression. Even re-watching it was entertaining. I think this will hold up very well over time.

Desperate for intelligence, a brutal killer is implanted with the memories of a dead operative.

A surprisingly good movie. While not wholly original, it’s a good mix of interesting elements. This isn’t really a spy movie, and has a surprisingly strong emphasis on characters.

Having moved into a new place, a man gets caught in terrible circumstances when he discovers his neighbour is a research facility which built a prototype time machine.

A great movie. In the tradition of lower-budget movies, it emphasises atmosphere, writing and acting than special effects. In, in fact, has no special effects whatsoever.. and they’re not missed.

Highly recommended for fans of time travel movies. For others not familiar with this sub-genre, this’ll probably play like a mild mystery-horror.

When his missing daughter turns up with a mark on her back, an ex-con fights to keep them both safe.

Dirty, dangerous and to-the-point. As always, Mel Gibson plays this stereotypical role of his quite well. If you like him in his other gritty movies, you’ll like this one.

A famous work of philosophy, especially because it’s told using a story.

A terrible work of storytelling that entirely shrouds any philosophy it may have. From the first sentence I rolled my eyes and couldn’t make it through the first half-page before setting it down in disgust. I still haven’t been more than a handful of pages in.. it’s just so god damned bad.

This’ll sit on my shelf, among its betters, probably for years before I get around to trying to read more of it. Just as books in ancient Greek need translating, I think this needs a real writer to re-tell the story.

An assassin tries to leave the life, and though she gets tracked down she survives and takes to a life of revenge.

Incredibly drawn out. I’ve seen it some time ago, but even attempting to re-watch this makes me cringe. This gets grouped into the category of “I’d be able to pay attention if the lead character was better looking.” .. and like those other films, that still wouldn’t be enough to make this a good movie.

This is a shit movie that only did well because it was unique at the time.

  • This is the whole of volume 1 and volume 2 put together.

    • I understand there is a DVD release, and it’ll be shown in theatres for some reason. I also found a fan edit.
  • Properly titled Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair
  • There will probably be a sequel.
