Ruby is a true object-oriented programming language renown for its ease for comprehension and maintainability. It can do most of the things other programming languages can do, but the programmer has more fun.

Now at the end of 2016, when I look at my very old notes from 2007 I wonder.. Is Ruby’s hayday over?.

A cross-platform native Ruby language GTK 2.x MU* (Telnet) client written by Mario Steele. It has been released under the LGPL license.

While not yet in a stable form, its goals will be to create a client:server model which allows for client-side processing of scriptlets.

Abandoned. It seems to have just vanished.

2022-07-12 – Apparently abandoned
- The website is down
- the source code archive as of 202201280 shows the last activity at 2021-02-09. It was a small change and the update previous to that was 2018-10-05.
- The mailing list archive doesn’t tell me enough because it’s an old snapshot.

A fast, open source, cross-platform Web browser based on the Links web browser.

Where Lynx is the standard console web browser for most Linux distributions and is complete shit, Links is fucking awesome.

I had used this for some time but abandoned it for a while. I’ll try it again eventually.

Tried twice. Both times 2005-06-19 or earlier. No version was recorded, and no notes were taken, aside from “it’s not intuitive”.

A DOS emulation program.

Absolutely essential for emulating DOS not just within Windows or a traditional Linux environment, but within ARM/Linux as well, for palmtops and phones.

For games I’ve played via it, see /tag/dosbox-games (although the tag is new and not populated well)
