A feminist’s documentary about men’s (human) rights.

A refreshing piece of work, with the intellectual morals to actually talk to the men’s rights advocates being talked about. The contrast between “the sides” is truly astonishing.

Betrayed by his partner-in-crime over syndicate buy-in money, and by his wife over his affair, a man returns from his assumed-murder to collect his cut from their last job.

An amazing movie that has a great tone throughout. It’s straightforward and blunt. Although Mel Gibson is flat, it works for both the character and the movie.

On the way to moving to a new town, a girl stumbles upon and is trapped in a pocket dimension with an old Japanese bath house run by spirits and non-humans.

SHE SHOUTS A LOT

A spectacular movie. Youthful but with a balance of fantasy spectacle and horror.

An American captain, suffering from PTSD-induced nightmares so bad he became alcoholic, is brought back into the trade as a consultant and trainer to suppress the civil war in Japan and fight against its old warrior class, the samurai.

Dare I say this is one of the greats. It has various classic elements without being tiring and obvious, and maintains a great pace and tone.

A recently-ex-con world-renown hacker is swept into the well-planned efforts to fund long-term anti-terrorist terrorism.

I-like-hyphens.

Ignoring the Hollywood-hacker bullshit, it’s a good movie, particularly because so few, at least at its release, would be so A-class and yet have this particular topic. It helps shape the understanding of the passion behind Lawful Evil.

An investigator of airplane disasters learns their passengers are critical to the plans of a woman he falls in love with.

This is one of the early time travel movies which really grabbed me and brought me into the genre. I don’t know that I’d call it great or could strongly recommended it to others, but I like it a lot.

Rescued from an unknown realm, a demon, raised as a monster-hunting government agent, faces his destiny and the destruction of the world.

A rather good movie, because it features a relatable and mortal character. The time of its release was not saturated with this genre, so it was gave a strong impression. Even re-watching it was entertaining. I think this will hold up very well over time.

Tired of lax justice, two brothers become particularly effective vigilantes against the criminal element in their greater area.

I don’t know what to say about this movie. It’s fantastic. Good characters, a good story and with a good flow to it.
