The last remaining city in a ruined world learns it has an oversight committee funding a research project overseeing them.

An adequate movie, filled with no character development, an uninteresting world and a mediocre plot. Good for a watch for people who like the earlier movies in this series, or people too young and dumb to know what a good movie actually is.

Properly titled The Divergent Series: Allegiant
Based on Allegiant – (2013 book), by Veronica Roth

A man attains mystical powers originally for selfish reasons, but they taint with a life fraught with danger and demons.

Not a bad show, but the lead character’s personality isn’t attracting, and there’s the old celestial stick-up-the-ass personality in another. The lead female is hot. Hotty hot hot.

This was cancelled after one season. Back in the 90s this show would have done well, but I’m guessing this genre has alternately been well-poisoned or saturated. This show has too much it has to be better than to catch enough attention to survive. I think that it’s magic-fantasy was competing with an extraordinarily-strong superhero-fantasy genre.

More-or-less based on Constantine – (2005 movie)
.. which in turn is based on the DC comic book series Hellblazer.

A warrior race escapes a decaying world by invading a new one.

I hold no strong opinion of this. It’s .. mediocre.

A man hears voices, kills people, and stuff.

I saw bits and pieces, including some pretty long bits. I didn’t like any of it. This was one of those career enders .. but it somehow didn’t murder his career.

Something about American yokles and bad people and meth and stuff.

I didn’t watch much of it. I caught a bit here and there. It was too dark. Dim, and boring.

It’s just being listed here so I don’t accidentally watch it.

An Old One is awakened, and renews his takeover of the world.. except we already know the good guys win because this takes place in the 80s and a past movie, set in the then-future, has an intact world with all characters accounted for.

A standard superhero movie, with nothing particularly interesting. Extremely confusing given that this is a sequel to a sequel to a prequel or some shit.

I would have done a few things different, and even a few subtle changes would have made this movie a hell of a lot better.

Definitely pass on this unless you’re really into this particular series.

Properly titled X-Men: Apocalypse

Some bullshit about a woman who has issues with being possessed.

I saw bits and pieces of it, and instantly hated it. It’s being noted so I can definitely never see it.

I’m not really sure what’s going on with this movie. Something about cyborgs and a guy who is in love with one that he’s trying to “resurrect”.

It’s an interesting watch, but probably only because it’s Korean. I don’t get to see a lot of foreign science fiction movies outside of the glut of Japanese anime. I sort of like it, but I tend to get confused in a couple of places. It’ll be recommended, but only to those of a similar mind to me.

Very good subtitles; very few were awkward for me.
