Two young losers somehow make a hot woman who has magical powers.

One of the fundamental parts of this movie involves some really terrifyingly-old technology. Even back then it was comical. If that can be excused, the rest of this holds up perfectly.

So with that out of the way, I can highly recommend this. I know my nostalgia must cloud my judgement, but I still think it would be a fun movie for a first-timer. It’s bubblegum.

  • I’m not sure how this was rated PG-13, as there is nudity in a couple of places, like in a magazine.

An anti-robot cop investigates the death of the father of contemporary artificial intelligence-enabled robots.

A great movie through and through. Highly recommended and a welcome addition to my science fiction movie catalog.

An extended episode of Father Ted – (1995-1998 show).

It’s as great/awful as the rest of the show. You will like this as much as the show.

A team investigates the killing of genetics researchers by their secret laboratory’s artificial intelligence, learning it had a good reason to do so.

Quite good, even after its era. It does not show much age except for one monster. This movie headed the resurrection of the zombie movie sub-genre.

TODO – To watch with commentary and all the bonus material.

The world learns that an old artifact is alien in origin, and set out to Venus to meet its creators.

Not terrible, but not my thing. I’m not a fan of old B-movies, and it being so old makes it impossible for me to judge it properly. I can summarize with: It has classic stiff acting and awkward writing.

  • aka The Silent Star
  • aka Planet of the Dead
  • aka Spaceship Venus Does Not Reply

Ancient Relic - (2002 movie) image

Entertainment > Movies >

Archaeologists discover an ancient body with impossible technologies, giving evidence of a time-traveling journalist.

Quite a good movie! With a three hour run time, it was an easy binge and one that strings together seamlessly. A great story, and while it has some storytelling moments, it has unforgiving realism for its characters.

It has only a couple of awkward “like it’s totes real, yo” moments because of some characters, but thankfully it’s well-balanced and is overall absent of religion aside from the major plot point.

An antiquities reclamation rogue discovers an ancient Egyptian prison, and becomes an unwilling agent for the curse within.

At best this is an adequate movie. I could weakly recommend it for fans of this sub-genre, but otherwise give it a pass. It has a budget that’s stronger than its writing or acting.
