Artificial intelligence is created, but they forgot to send a philosopher, so things go to shit somehow there are survivors.

It borrows from various other things, but doesn’t execute anything very well. It just comes off as being badly written. I should have guessed based on the production company’s amateur-night page.

Alien 3 (1992) image

Survivors of an alien attack crash next to a prison and learn that the alien came with them.

This was my first movie with a shaved-headed woman. I guess I was all “oh no she di’int, now wesa gettin serioooos”.

In my mind, the franchise was significantly weakened by this movie. It just didn’t “feel right”. Perhaps the previous two were so good that they became too tough to follow, but after yet another re-watch this movie really just doesn’t seem all that good.

  • Alternately titled ALIEN3

Waking from long hibernation, a woman claims to be the survivor of an alien attack from a planetoid which has since become a terraforming colony.

A direct descendent of Alien – (1979 movie), this movie not only builds on but improves on the movie, turning this into a blockbuster franchise.

A crew of civilians investigates a distress beacon, but it turn out to be a warning that they were too late to heed.

Alien is another “first to get there” movie which has set the bar for its sub-genre.

It has a dirty old-but-futuristic look to it that really stretches its technological and budgetary limitations. As it turns out, this has given the movie incredible longevity. For a movie as old as this, it easily stands the test of time.

Logan - (2017 movie) image

Logan (Wolverine) gets tangled up with a girl fleeing a mutant research and breeding lab that is definitely nothing like that of Dark Angel – (2000 show).

Not recommended.

This is like a DC version of X-Men. It was passable at best, and a good way to put the whole series and concept of comic book movies to bed. I think I’ll end them all on this low note.

  • 2:30 — The claw thing is a reference to drunk men having trouble achieving full erection.
  • 3:15 — Shooting him didn’t do anything, why would they fight him, let alone try to stab him?
  • 4:00 — Texas license plate WER 112

    • Is he in Texas?
  • 4:15 —

    • West 62 — Is that West Virginia Route 62?
    • El Paso is in Texas. So apparently there were Spanish-speaking gangsters in Texas for some reason. Is that a thing?

  • 15:00 — Statue of Liberty

  • 18:45 —

Future Man - (2017 show) image

Crude and un-funny.

Pseudo-immortality is reached when alien technology allows humans to save their consciousnesses to reusable disks, and a criminal’s disk is brought online from deep storage, for him to investigate the crime against an ancient and powerful man.

Finally, a science fiction show with real depth and darkness. Highly recommended.

I forgot season 1 and so it basically goes to confusing shit in season 2 so I gave up.

Netforce, a United States federal agency, tracks major hacking activities on the internet that point toward major criminal activities.

Definitely a TV-movie. Mediocre, and only moderately interesting. Definitely missing key elements from the also-boring book.
