Adventurers find a cave system where time inside is slowed.

All in all it’s pretty weak.

Cryogenics is used to freeze a criminal and the cop who was framed while capturing him, and both are awakened to a seemingly-pristine world.

A classic that holds up well.

Entertainment > Movies >

A supernerd’s future self visits him to proclaim a warning of his wasting his life.

Plodding and boring. There are some laughs, but I don’t see why this would be considered a comedy.

I don’t even know how to summarize this movie; it’s story isn’t compelling.. just some people who might have had an interesting backstory hanging out on a planet kinda trying to survive-ish.

Shortwave - (2016 movie) poster

A grieving woman goes insane after her child is kidnapped.

A horror. It’s a horror. It’s a slow plodding drama that eventually gets around to a very light mystery and then a horror. A bad one.

I loved the sunglasses from The Arrival – (1996 movie), and thanks to Product Placement Takes Off, these may be from Luxottica. The Ray-Ban Chaos RB3140 are likely a direct descendent.

I haven’t come anywhere near close to confirming the actual make and model.

UPDATE – They may be Vogue

A web browser that uses components from Chrome to build a more security-conscious browser which also has a server-independent commenting mechanism like an old ICQ project had.

Like Chrome, it’s missing fundamental things.

  • Abandoned – As of 2022-02-18 – The project was to be reworked to be based on Firefox instead of Brave, but that didn’t seem to get off the ground.

To “port” is to bring things over from elsewhere. They will become either new pages or major updates. Small pages and minor updates are not noted.

From ancient archives ∞

Spoiler
  • The dates from the oldest articles (probably 2005 and earlier) are likely wrong, as they were ported from a still-older content management system.

    • Articles do not show the article time at the moment, but I’ve been internally nothing date-unknown articles by giving them a timestamp of 00:00.
    • Just as this “five things” process exists, I had an earlier series of notes tracking a still-earlier porting process. In due time, I’ll go through that list and correct dates as best I can.

771 articles left to process..
