Orphan Black - (2013 show) image

An underclass punk, returning from a ten month flight from the country, happens upon a suicide that reveals that she is part of a larger picture.

The lead actor is particularly good, as is all the acting. The story is poor in a number of places, and it is particularly jarring to have literal-faggotry forced into it. I don’t mind there happening to be gay characters, but when they’re gay characters being gay because gayness yay gay gay as opposed to just being people who happen to be gay, it’s so obvious and so insulting as to taint the whole fucking show.

I’ll flag this as liked and lightly-recommended. It’s really not all that awful, but it rubs me the wrong way. It’s like girly science fiction drama-whatever.

In a dystopic future akin to Brave New World – (1932 book), by Aldous Huxley, everyone is lost in a virtual reality, playing a game to take control of the world’s largest corporation.

This movie is parasitic to the childhoods of old men and permanent-children. It’s worth a watch if you’re over 40, otherwise it’ll be a fairly confusing mess of references.

A semi-roguelike tower defence-ish game.

Utterly impossible. Doesn’t make a lick of sense. Unlimited waves of stuff, for some reason. Can’t build enough, the resource limitations are obscene.

So cute! Whenever I play a game with a little fox type thing, I will always think of Okami – (2006 game).

I ended up getting stuck at the winter/summer level, trying to go east with the spirit. I guess I’m the first person to ever play this, ever.

Inspired by the story of the forty-seven rōnin . If you don’t know it, then don’t look that up. I can’t give a description without spoiling it. Consider yourself lucky to have a fresh mind.

This is a patient yet tense movie. I have next to no notes, because there’s really nothing to write or even think about. Recommended, though not “highly recommended”, as there are a lot of movies which execute this general manly-man theme extremely well. Though it’s not among its number, anyone who likes the samurai genre should give this a watch.

It’s a requirement for other software, and I only care about actually using it for repairing PDFs.

Waking from long hibernation, a woman claims to be the survivor of an alien attack from a planetoid which has since become a terraforming colony.

A direct descendent of Alien – (1979 movie), this movie not only builds on but improves on the movie, turning this into a blockbuster franchise.

A crew of civilians investigates a distress beacon, but it turn out to be a warning that they were too late to heed.

Alien is another “first to get there” movie which has set the bar for its sub-genre.

It has a dirty old-but-futuristic look to it that really stretches its technological and budgetary limitations. As it turns out, this has given the movie incredible longevity. For a movie as old as this, it easily stands the test of time.
